Your business template

How the shape you choose at setup decides which modules you start with and what Prevarro prepares for you, and how to switch modules on or off afterwards.

This article is being updated.

When you set up Prevarro, you answer one question that shapes everything else: What shape is your business? Your answer is your business template. It decides which modules appear in your sidebar and what Prevarro prepares for you, so you start with a workspace that already fits how you work.

The two shapes

Your industry doesn't change what gets set up. Only the shape does.

If you pick Jobs & Projects, setup also asks How does most of your work run?: Mostly one-visit jobs, Mostly multi-stage projects or A mix of both. Your answer sets how a new job opens. Any job can switch.

What each shape sets up

At the end of setup, Prevarro shows what it has built for your shape. Everything it creates is yours to edit, delete or add to.

Prevarro sets up the structure. The categories, roles and plans are there waiting for your own numbers.

Modules your shape doesn't need are hidden from the sidebar, not greyed out. For example, Members is hidden for Jobs & Projects businesses, while Jobs, Schedule, Quoting, Purchasing and Equipment are hidden for Memberships & Plans businesses.

Switching modules on or off

The Owner can change which modules appear:

  1. Go to Settings → Modules. The Your modules card shows your current shape and every module.
  2. Use the switch beside a module to turn it on or off. The sidebar updates straight away. Switching a module off hides it, and nothing in it is deleted.

Some modules show CORE and Always on. These are part of every business and can't be turned off. A module you've switched on or off yourself shows a CUSTOM badge, even after you switch it back to your shape's default. Your choices stay in place.

Under Timesheets, the Fuel tracking switch adds machine hours and fuel to the daily field log.

Members also switches itself on automatically when a business links to your portfolio, whatever the switch says.

If you can't see Modules under Settings, your role doesn't include changing the business setup. Ask your Owner.
