# Your card, invoices and billing details

> Manage the card Prevarro charges, find and download your invoices, and keep your billing details and tax identifier current.

*This article is being updated.*

Everything Prevarro bills your business is under **Settings → Plan & Billing**. Anyone whose role lets them view billing can read this page. Only the Owner can make changes, and changes may ask you to confirm with your second sign-in factor.

## Payment methods

The **Payment methods** card lists the cards Prevarro charges for your subscription. Each shows its last four digits and expiry, with a badge where it applies: **Default**, **Expiring soon** or **Last charge failed**. With none saved, the card reads **No payment method on file.**

To add a card:

1. Select **Add card**. The **Add a card** page opens.
2. Enter the card details.
3. Select **Save card**. During a trial, or after a trial has ended, tick **I accept these subscription terms** and select **Start subscription** instead.

The new card becomes your default and pays your next invoice. Your other saved cards stay on file.

To make another saved card your default, select **Make default** on it. To remove a card, select **Remove** and confirm: it won't be charged again. While your plan is running you can't remove your default card or your only card - add another card and make it the default first.

Turn on **Retry my other saved methods** if you'd like Prevarro to try your other saved methods when a charge to your default method fails, before any payment reminders begin.

## If a charge fails

When a charge for your subscription fails, the **Current plan** card shows **Payment overdue**, and the card that was charged shows **Last charge failed**. The Owner also sees a banner at the top of every screen: "Your last payment to Prevarro failed. We'll try again on [date]. If the retries run out, your plan ends and this workspace locks." Select **Update card** on the banner, or add a card as above: it becomes your default.

## Invoices

The **Invoices** card lists one invoice for each billing cycle, and a copy of each is emailed to your billing contact. Each row shows the issue date, the invoice number, the total and a status:

- **Issued** - not yet paid, and not yet past its due date
- **Part paid** - some of it has been paid
- **Paid**
- **Overdue** - past its due date with an amount still owing
- **Disputed**
- **Void**.

On each row:

- Select **Details** to see what the invoice is made up of, and **Hide details** to close them.
- Select **PDF** to download a copy.

The PDF lists each line with its quantity, unit price and amount, then the totals and the balance due. The tax identifier from your billing details appears under **Billed to** when you've set one.

## Billing details

The **Billing details** card holds what appears on Prevarro's invoices to your business:

- **Billing contact name**, **Billing contact email** and **Billing contact phone**
- **Billing address**
- your tax number, labelled for your business's country: **ABN** in Australia, **VAT** in the UK and the EU, **EIN** in the US, **Tax ID** elsewhere

The billing contact receives invoices, receipts and payment notices.

To change a value, select it, type the new one, then press Enter or click away to save. In the billing address, Enter starts a new line, so click away to save. Press Escape to cancel. Clearing a field leaves it unset. A business in the UK or the EU can change its VAT number but not clear it. A number that isn't valid is refused with **Check the number and try again.**

Until you set a billing contact, the card shows the Owner's details, and invoices go to the Owner. The billing address is your business's own, the same one shown under **Settings → General**, so a change in one place shows in both. The tax identifier here is the one on Prevarro's invoices to you, from your billing details at signup. It is kept apart from the tax identifier under **Settings → General**, which your own quotes and invoices show, so a change here does not change it there.

Keep your tax identifier current so your invoices are tax-correct.
